The B-3 flight jacket, worn by USAF pilots during World War II as heavy-zone gear for extreme cold conditions (−30°C to −10°C), is faithfully reproduced using shearling from Spain’s renowned Colomer tannery.
While the back construction of the B-3 varied by era, Y’2 LEATHER adopts the late-war version featuring a three-panel back design. Fine details such as the chin strap shape are meticulously recreated based on original vintage references.
Horsehide used for the trim parts is vegetable-tanned leather with an olive-dyed core, allowing contrasting undertones to emerge beautifully with wear.
